Dr. Aulette-Root has lived and worked around the world, from Detroit to Scotland, Poland, South Africa, Mexico and Miami. She has always loved animals. Caring for stray cats as a child, she went on to work with penguins and birds of prey as a university student. She is fluent in English and Spanish and is currently improving her Portuguese and Mandarin.
Before attending vet school she earned degrees in Africana Studies and English Literature from the University of the Western Cape and the University of Cape Town. She graduated with honors from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine and completed her clinical work for her DVM at the Royal Veterinary College in London.
Compassionate and effective care is the core of her practice. In addition to her experience in fear free and small animal practice, she has also worked in emergency medicine and taken part in specialized training for spay and neuter procedures with the ASPCA.
When she isn’t working Dr. Aulette-Root likes to travel, visit museums, listen to music and spend time with her adopted family; cats Monty and Brayan, and her hairless chihuahua Jozi.
