Dr. Sharon Zhang has always had a love for animals. She aspired to become a veterinarian ever since her parents adopted a senior dog when she was a child. Sharon grew up in Toronto and is excited to have returned home in 2019 after working in Ottawa for 3 years. She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree from Queen’s University and graduated with honours from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2016.
Being a veterinarian is very rewarding for Sharon as it allows her to work with and help make a difference in the lives of both animals and people. Sharon enjoys the areas of preventative care, internal medicine, and palliative care. She is an avid traveler and has been fortunate to have been able to combine that with volunteer veterinary work. While in school, she participated in the Global Vets program where she worked at various veterinary and community outreach projects in East and South Africa.
When she is not taking care of her furry patients, Sharon can be found getting messy with pottery, hiking, and trying new restaurants. She likes spending time with friends and family, and is always ready to cuddle her calico cat (Chi).
