Sonia obtained her Bachelor of Science from University of Guelph, with a major in Animal Biology and a minor in Classical Languages. After graduating, she moved to Saskatchewan and worked with swine. Unfortunately, allergies forced her out of the barn after 2 years. She returned to Toronto and has been working with small animals ever since. She recently decided to officially pursue the path to becoming an RVT and graduated with honours from Sheridan College. She was awarded the OVMA Veterinary Technician Excellence Award for “above average standing with an emphasis on clinical practice”.
Sonia shares her home with one human roommate and one elderly feline (Binx), whom she affectionately refers to as her “foster fail”. In her spare time, she sings, paints, plays guitar, flute and piano, and is learning to play the cello. Sonia also loves languages and hopes to be fluent in Farsi and Mandarin in this lifetime.
